Jharkhand a state in eastern India, which literally means "Land of bushes, shrubs, trees" and is also known as "Land of forests". Though other states are getting polluted and populated, Jharkhand still remains one of the best states of India in terms of  "Good Environment" and "Cultural Heritage". The state is slowly moving towards modernization after long years of struggle. Jharkhand is mainly inhabited by the tribals who are living and protecting forests for centuries. Here, we will come across some incredible facts about Jharkhand which most of us are unaware of. So with further ado, let us get started.

1. The highest peak of Jharkhand is Parasnath with the elevation of 1366m in Giridih. 






2. India's Largest Indian flag hoisted on the tallest mast is in Pahari Mandir, Ranchi.





3. The Lupungutu stream in Chaibasa is famous for its clear warm water said to have medicinal value emerging from the roots of trees. 






4. Maluti village near Shikaripara in Dumka District with 72 terracotta temples was built between 16-17 century is a famous historic and tourist destination. 





5. Hadiya is the famous alcoholic drink, named after earthen pot used to make it. 




6. Tropic of Cancer actually passes through Ranchi at Kanke, at coordinates 23°26′01″ N and  85°19′15″ E.





7. Maithan Dam, with its underground power station, is the only of its kind in Asia. 






8. Bursting the myth of "Backward state", Jharkhand emerged as the "Best Performing State" in Swachh Bharat Survekshan 2018.  





9. Jharkhand is one of the newest states of India which was born on 15 November 2000 after separating from Bihar. 





10. The signature dish of Jharkhand is dhuska , which mainly consists of rice and is served with chutney or curry. 




11. Jharkhand is a land famous for its freedom fighters like Birsa Munda, Sidho and Kanho, etc. 





12. The "Official tree of Jharkhand" is Sal





13. The "Official flower of Jharkhand" is Palash






14. The "Official bird of Jharkhand" is Koel





15. Supporting India by being the leading producer of mineral wealth in the country covering 40% of the total minerals in the country.
