Exploring Jharkhand: Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park

Numerous wild creatures, including Birds, crocodiles, elephants, bears, tigers, lions, leopards, and hippos along with some exotic species, etc., may be seen at the Birsa Zoological Park, also known as Birsa Jaivik Udyan.
In 1994, Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park was built and opened to the public. It is one of the top tourist destinations in Ranchi, attracting close to 4 lakh tourists yearly. The Getalsud Dam on the southern side and Sapahi, a seasonal sea enveloping from the other sides, are the two most notable features. In Ranchi, a park has been established to enlighten people about wildlife and forest protection.

104 acres of naturally occurring dry deciduous Sal woods, water features, and slightly undulating topography make up the area. The park is located 20 kilometres from Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand, on both sides of National Highway 33. The botanical sector of the park occupies an area of 23 Ha on the northern side and is smaller than the zoological section, or the main Zoo, which occupies an area of 81 Ha on the southern side of the NH. The majority of the zoo's residents reside in open, huge moated areas that are bordered by uncultivated vegetation, giving them naturalistic habitats and surroundings.

Adopt an animal: Birsa Zoological Park even has an adoption program to allow people to demonstrate their love and support for untamed creatures. By adopting your preferred animal, you may help with its feeding, medical care, and welfare. Adopting an animal is a great cause that benefits both you and your loved ones. It helps the zoo authorities provide better care to animals and can also help you in saving taxes. For more information, visit their official website to learn more.

Variety of birds: The zoo is also home to rare and exotic bird species that have been imported from various regions of the nation, including the peacock, zebra finch, baya weaver, red lory, black neck swan, and silver pheasant. Observing these birds is undoubtedly fascinating.

Don’t litter: It is exceedingly challenging for the management authorities to clean and maintain the zoo because it is spread out over 104 hectares. Therefore, we politely ask to ensure that nobody leaves the zoo littered and that they dispose of any leftovers in the trash. It's incredibly clean and green, and the visitors must keep it that way by not damaging the ecosystem by scattering trash around or removing nearby flowers and plants.
